WELCOME TO LIONS DISTRICT 27-E1
Lions District 27-E1 is one of ten districts that together cover the State of Wisconsin and comprise Multiple District 27. The District is located in Northwest Wisconsin and includes eight counties; Barron, Burnett, Chippewa, Douglas, Polk, Rusk, Sawyer, and Washburn.
The Lions of Wisconsin District 27-E1 are comprised of 48 Lions Clubs, 6 Lioness Clubs, and 1 Leo Club with a combined membership of approximately 1,800 service minded individuals.
Lions are an international network of over 1.3 million men and women from 208 countries and geographical areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
Lions serve in many ways, but our number one cause is the crusade against blindness. We provide eye exams and glasses for needy children and adults. We collect used eye glasses to be recycled for use by people in third-world countries. Lions conduct vision screening to detect eye problems that will benefit from referrals to medical professionals. Lions also participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities. Founded in 1917, the International Association of Lions Clubs has provided millions of people with the opportunity to serve others who are in need.
DELORES LaFAIVE, a member of the Lake Wissota Lions Club, is the 2014-2015 District Governor for District 27-E1. She was inducted into office at the International Convention in Toronto, Canada. Her theme is “KEEPING OUR LIONS CLUBS ABOVE WATER” which appears on her personal pin and serves as a tribute to her home club. DG LaFaive and her husband, Lion Ken, are both retired and reside in Chetek, WI.
